About the Fiscal Lab

The Fiscal Lab on Capitol Hill is an independent research center created to provide Congress with rigorous, transparent budget and regulatory analysis aimed at addressing America’s worsening fiscal outlook.

In light of credit downgrades, rising deficits, and the limited capacity of CBO and JCT, the Lab gives lawmakers alternative scores, dynamic economic modeling, and AI-driven tools to better evaluate policy proposals and design pro-growth reforms. Distinct from traditional think tanks, it works directly with Members and staff, focusing on both immediate fiscal pressures and long-term sustainability.
